NVQ Observation

Hi folks

This is just a bit of a heads up to those of you undertaking the NVQ. City and Guilds lead EQA has stated he expects a qualified assessor from the providers assessment team to undertake an observation of you in the workplace.
Without this your NVQ is not complete.

Re: City and Guilds NVQ 5

Hi

With the OCR accredited NVQ you used to be able to use Dip.RSA, City and Guilds don't have that privilege.

Re: Course Supplier

Hi No, seems a cheap price though. Find out who your assessor is and google them! seriously, you will need to find out how much interaction you will get with your assessor, will they mentor you! Do you need mentoring? Will you be happy just being given the materials and left alone! after all if you ...

Re: NVQ delivery via OCR Awarding Body

Hi If you register with a training provider before Christmas then they could opt to register you with OCR, after this it will be with another awarding body. For each provdier it shouldnt mean any different way in delivery. The advantages of OCR is that you can use Dip.RSA after your name once you ge...

Hi

Yes you will use RA, but you will also use active monitoring; site inspections, reactive monitoring; accident investigations. Sampling, surveys, suggestion boxes etc.

Re: Nvq5 update

Hey Have you considered doing the NVQ 3 and then upgrading to the level 5? Chances are that a lot of your level 3 stuff will cross reference as you aiming high anyway. We issue the same text book for the level 3 as with the NEBOSH gen cert. So if you are self studying then you get more info off your...

Evidence submission not allowed to leave workplace

Hi folks I recently saw a thread which mentioned that a potential NVQ candidate was not considering this route as the employer wouldn't allow the evidence to leave the workplace. Now, if that candidate went and sat an examined qualification to gain Grad.IOSH (admittedly this is not always the case),...

Re: Severity levels for risk assessments....

Hi folks A great discussion with some very good points. I think the risk assessor can forget to consider the perception of the risk assessment reader (employee). So what ever methods we are using in our RA process, these need to be clear to those who are using it to understand how to work safely! Th...
