Re: HSEQ & Compliance Administrator
You will make of this what you want. If you just want to be an administrator and don't show any interest or willingness to get involved with your H&S teams, I'm sure that's how it will end up. However, if you are keen to learn and go out of your way to help, it will soon be noticed and you will ...

Re: Anyone work in accident investigations
I did a very good accident investigation course in Cranfield university. Not cheap but very well run. They also have different levels.

Re: Step ladders - do they need to be footed ?
footing a step ladder... I don't think I would insist on that to be honest. I would ask that they are used correctly but not footing it.

Re: Inexpensive Dsear course ?
I booked two of my colleagues on the DEKRA - 4-day course - Practical Aspects of DSEAR & ATEX Compliance Success. They do online and every now and then on their training campus in Southampton (as we did it) just over £1.2k but the feedback from my colleagues - fire safety officers in my company ...

Re: Gate Runners
It would not come under the description for RIDDOR in my opinion.
Still investigate and put measures in place to prevent recurrence.

Hi Hussain,
what about the risk register? what do you need understanding on? If you could be a little more specific perhaps we can help.

Re: RIDDOR
I would not consider this RIDDOR reportable unless there is an issue with the building infrastructure that might have contributed to the injury.

Re: Office space advice needed
Same here, I would look at it from a risk assessments point of view rather than just the 11m3. I suppose you will be having two desks in the area. If you have sufficient space behind each desk for a chair and movement and suitable emergency evacuation from the room then i would not see too much of a...

Re: Risk assessment advice
Keep it as a general risk for any items on the work bench. Think about existing measures to prevent these from falling (housekeeping, maximum number, distance from walkways, are the benches level? could the be made slightly dropping towards the wall / slip resistance on surface of bench, level of tr...

Re: Newbie documentation questions FLT etc
Hi, Welcome to the forum :) No need to keep two copies. One would suffice. Important to keep them and ok for the driver to bring them as a whole once a month providing he is highlighting issues and bringing them up to your attention as soon as these are found. Agree with above, a signature is not re...

Re: New and curious
hello & welcome :) Brilliant that you are doing the level 3. I'm sure that would be of great benefit for you. in terms of IOSH membership, I'd say save yourself the money unless you were planning to go fully into H&S, which you are not. If in the future you decide to, then by all means. I do...

Re: RIDDOR
Morning, It would come down to the contract and prior arrangements made with the client and the contractor. If this had not been agreed in advance, I would report myself. If for any reason this was to be reported more than once, i.e. you and the client, the HSE will be able to see if there's been du...
