Re: Exit sign needed?
You are correct, sorry, not enough info. Its basically a large room, I'll stick to my guns, no sign needed.

Exit sign needed?
Dear all Wonder if you could help? Small issue really. I work at a college. We have a new learning resources centre. There is a second floor which has one way in and out. Does it need an exit sign? I am loathe to put one up as generally i focus on real risks based on common sense approach. Knowing t...

Re: Gas pipes on escape routes?
Thank you for the link.
The link I posted should take you to the exact moment the architect says, "What is illegal..."
If not, it is 14 minutes and 11 seconds in.
Thanks again.

Re: Gas pipes on escape routes?
Thanks Bernicarey. I will take your points and address them in the fire risk assessment for each build. Interestingly, while doing some research on causes of Grenfell I note the architect in this video which discusses causes of why the fire started, states that it is illegal to have unprotected gas ...

Gas pipes on escape routes?
Good afternoon, I wonder if you could help? Do gas pipes have to be fire proofed - if that is the right word? I work in a large school built in 1849. Main block consists of boarding houses and staff accommodation. On inspection, gas pipes are prevalent and painted a yellow ochre I believe. But do th...

Heras fencing - number of clips
Good afternoon First, just to say that I am not a new member of the forum, I have gone by the name of kramehtnam and Captain Awesome before but can never remember my password and when I try to get reminder it says my email and username does not exist - hence the new name again! I have been informed ...

TOHS
Afternoon everyone,
Just looking at my fire alarm system download and one of the devices is a TOHS, another is TH.
I am sure that the OHS stands for Optical Heat Sensor and H stands for Heat but anyone know what the T stands for?
Many thanks
Mark

Asbestos Exposure
Morning Just a quick one. Can a person sue for being allowed to work in an area which, based on a recent sampling exercise, has been identified as being contaminated with Asbestos residue - even if he has not been diagnosed with any associated diseases? Appreciate there is a greater moral obligation...

A real Fire Alarm Activation as a practice drill?
Morning all
Can a real fire evacuation be taken as a "fire drill"?
We were due to carry one out in this area and someone burnt the toast so there was an evac, we swept and debriefed the staff - but can this be taken as a fire drill or do we have to carry out a planned one?
Thanks
Mark
