Re: NCRQ vs NVQ vs NEBOSH
Hi, Working through the NCRQ Diploma, I can highly recommend it. It really gets you thinking, and is very enjoyable. I think it is much more challenging than NEBOSH - you really need to understand things and be able to apply them to scenarios, and it really tests the depth of your knowledge and unde...

Re: Classroom Vs Distance Learning
Highly recommend the NCRQ Diploma - really flexible and can work around squishy things - based on assignments instead of exams. You can request an assignment at a time to suit yourself, and then have two / four weeks to complete and submit it. And tutor support at weekends and evenings - I have had ...

Re: Getting on with NCRQ? Interested, though prices gone up!
Hi, Yes it doesn't really feel like distance learning. You are guided through the workbooks and online activities, so it's very interactive, not just sitting there reading. There are loads of activities where you research and write things down in your workbook, so it is more like a classroom structu...

Hi Joanne, It's brilliant - I'm making really good progress on it. It's all about understand they concepts and applying them to real life, so there is not much studying of the details of theories, more looking at concepts and models. And it's not a case of "here is the theory" - you study ...

Hi,
You get them when you sign up - included in the cost. Mine arrived the next day.
Good luck with it!

Re: Awaiting NGC results.. Next step for higher education
It's brilliant - a very adult way of learning - not focussing on memorising stuff but actually understanding and applying it. The assignments seem a lot more challenging than NEBOSH - but in a good way - you can do your own research on something without having to try and remember it, but it really m...

Re: Awaiting NGC results.. Next step for higher education
Hi, I'm doing NCRQ and there are a lot of students on their Student Support Forum who are getting jobs on the back of it. I think it gives you more of the skills that employers want, and I did quite a bit of calling round recruitment consultants and they all seemed to sway towards NCRQ. There are lo...

Re: Fire Training
Hi,
We do formal training every three years, but the fire wardens are all involved in annual fire drills and the debriefing from that, so that is a bit of a refresher of their roles and responsibilities and gives an opportunity to identify any issues.

Re: NEBOSH or NCRQ
With NCRQ it is all self-directed learning. You get a workbook that you work through that guides your studies, and lots of online resources and activities, with an active student forum for chatting with other students and tutors. Because your tutor is available in the evenings and weekends (and norm...

Re: Accounting for staff in a challenging environment
I'm really not an expert here at all but do they need to actually exit the building? If it has compartments like you say how about you all meet in a foyer, unless of course there are signs of fire when you would then meet at a muster point in the street? I know many hospitals just evacuate horizonta...

Re: NEBOSH or NCRQ
Hi Allan, I'm doing NCRQ at the moment - definitely the right decision for me. It's a really excellent way of learning by analysing case studies, and the assignments reflect the skills you will need - actually doing risk assessment, root cause analysis, accident investigation, preparing reports for ...
