Roller Shutter Door Inspections
Hi, What legal requirements apply to the inspection of roller shutter doors (the type found over shop entrances)? They fall under PUWER'98, but I cannot find any specific information which states the legal need to inspect at what frequency (12 months etc), there is reference to frequency based upon ...

Safety Harnesses
Good Morning,
Is there a legal requirement to use safety harnesses when working in all types of MEWP's or should this be based upon risk assessment? What factors should be considered when assessing whether a harness is required?
Thanks

Carriage of Dangerous Goods
Hi, I'm looking into arrangements for the carriage of dangerous goods using our in-house fleet. Quantities are below the thresholds i.e. less than 1,000lts of non-flammable liquids. I know that the vehicles are exempt from displaying the orange plates but not sure about any of the other requirements...

Disposal of Laminators
Hi,
Are there any restrictions on the disposal of laminators the smal A4 type which are found in offices and homes. I don't think it comes under hazardous waste but not sure where to look to confirm.
Thanks

Ramp Inclines
Hi,
Does anyone know what the inclince of a ramp must not exceed to be compliant with Building Regs and DDA and where I can find this in the legislation/ACOP? The ramp is required for access into a retail unit.
Thanks

Fire Exit
Good Morning, We have experienced several break-ins recently with the route of entry being through a rear fire exit door. Amongst the options to improve security is the fitting of a roller shutter door to the single fire door exit. A query has been raised that, under current fire legislation, roller...

Driver Drug Testing

I'm only in the initial stages of searching for companies to carry out testing for our in-house delivery fleet drivers, but if anyone can advise on the type of things I should be looking out for ...

Re: Inspections
Hi Capirossi I did my NEBOSH General Cert a few years ago and certainly found it useful to visit sites to carry out 'mock' practical exams. I now complete workplace inspections regularly with my job. It will be great experience for your exams if you can get access to a variety of different sites. I ...

Re: Disposal of haz waste abroad
Thanks for all your replies. We have retail sites in The Netherlands where we need to dispose of hazardous waste. Legislation (which I found in English!) suggests that the Dutch operate in a very similar way to the UK, through a lisenced company.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

Disposal of haz waste abroad
Good afternoon,
I've been asked to look into the disposal of hazardous waste (grouts and adhesives) within The Netherlands. Can anyone advise whether there is relevant legislation covering this?
Thanks

Accident Books
Morning,
Is there a legal requirement for a workplace to keep an accident book (ie the standard HSE-issue type) or is it acceptable to record accidents/incidents in other ways (ie submitting an electronic form to a company HO with an electric copy kept on site)?
Thanks
