Re: When is COSHH risk assessment needed

Also, if you have any flammable liquids/gases, then you also need a DSEAR risk assessment. See HSG140 for more information.

Re: When is COSHH risk assessment needed

Posting a link to the MSDS might help someone explain specific sections more clearly. This is a bit of a grey area and has come up many many times in the past. In the end, I found it easier to do an assessment for everything. It doesnt take long and it only takes one inspector with a pole up their ...

IOSH Graduate name change to Certified (CertIOSH)

I received the new IOSH Certified Member certificate yesterday, and have to say that I feel I've been demoted. Graduate indicates that a professional qualification such as a Level 6 Diploma or Degree is held. Certified sounds like I now hold a low level certificate such as the NEBOSH National Genera...

Re: ProQual level 7 OR level 6 NVQ Diploma?

Or don't bother pursuing a higher qualification and gain a few years' experience, then take IOSH's Experiential route to the membership level of your choice i.e., CMIOSH (assuming your going for IOSH membership).

Re: Inexpensive Dsear course ?

Feel free to PM me your email address and I can share BRE Academy DSEAR Course Notes. Good course that my company sent me on last year. I think it was about £700 for a 3 day course. Tutor was a chap called Steve Manchester, who pretty much wrote the book on DSEAR.

DSEAR Query

Just wondering if anyone else does DSEAR Risk Assessments and do the gas calculations manually/via excel? My company won't purchase Quadvent or Hazcalc so I have to do gas calculations long hand or via a spreadsheet. I'm hoping someone here has some experience of calculating release rates to define ...
