Re: NCRQ vs NVQ vs NEBOSH
Hi Pete, I'm doing the NCRQ certificate in applied Health & Safety just now. I have already passed the NEBOSH NGC but I prefer the NCRQ method of learning. I feel as though with NEBOSH it is really just about memorizing information and then on exam day writing down what you have remembered witho...

Re: Emergency lighting
Thanks to everyone who replied to my post, they were very helpful. We have asked a reputable local company to come in and give us an inspection and to tell us what we need to get done. It looks like we have at some point had the emergency lighting partially updated but not completed which is why we ...

Emergency lighting
Good afternoon everyone, we recently carried out an emergency lighting review as the result of feedback from a Fire risk assessment that was carried out to our offices. It appears that our wiring for the emergency lighting has been done very shabbily. Some lights are always on, some come on when the...

Re: NCRQ Diploma in Applied Health & Safety
Hi Laura & Jonah, thanks for the input, it's much appreciated. You've certainly helped make up my mind whether to do it or not. I like the idea of being able to pay for each part separately as you can be saving for part two whilst doing part 1 etc. I also think having no exams would help me too ...

Re: NCRQ Diploma in Applied Health & Safety
Thanks for the reply Daz, I have researched it quite a lot and it seems the way to go for me, but I haven't seen a lot of job adverts that mention it so I don't really know how the industry views it at this point in time.

NCRQ Diploma in Applied Health & Safety
Hi guys, I'm looking for a bit of advice from the knowledgeable people on this excellent forum. Have any of you guys gone down the NCRQ Diploma route? Is it the equivalent to NEBOSH that it claims to be? Do employers view it as a proper qualification? etc. I'm considering going down this route as it...

Good LEV systems
Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone knows what would be the best type of LEV system to use in a concrete testing laboratory. We are exposed to high levels silica dust and at the moment all we use are dust masks but after numerous complaints from myself we have been given the go ahead to get an ex...

Re: Nebosh General (How do I now get a job!)
Hi mryounghanga, I know how you feel, I'm in the same situation as yourself. I have tried for numerous roles with no success due to my 'lack of experience'. I've had my CV done by professional health & safety recruitment experts, I've became a technical member of IOSH, I've done extra online cou...

Re: Stuggling with Nebosh.
Hi bigcoz, I did my NEBOSH a few years ago (and I'm still trying to get a role in Health & safety to this day) by going to night school. In advance of beginning the course, I bought a book that covered the course to try and get a head start so to speak. I found it difficult to start with but onc...
