I have read most of your training aids on the site and found them fantastic. Regardless of my result I have learnt loads and everywhere I go I spot hazards, I have never seen so much scaffolding

I just wanted to share with you my GOOOOOOOD news I received in the post last Thursday (15th).
I went down stairs and seen the NEBOSH logo on the top of the letter and i knew my results were here Que PANIC lol.
I opened the letter after about 5 mins of building my self up and read PASS,PASS,PASS i was over the moon and just to make things even better i got an overall grade of Distinction (no idea how as i thought i'd messed up one of the papers).
i've never been so happy passing an exam (don't know if thats sad or not but i don't care i passed ;o).
Also happy as the rest of my course passed too (o;
I'd just like to thank everyone on this forum, as I have visited the forum getting any hints and tips for my General Cert and everyday working life.
so thanks for all your help....
Been doing presentations for the last two day lots of positive feed back really makes me feel good all my hard work paying off. Many thanks to all HSfB who have helped me over the last couple of months

This is my 1st post to the forum.
I just wanted to share with you wonderful people of my GOOOOOOOD news I received in the post last Thursday (15th).
Im currently offshore, speaking to the missus on the phone, when she tells me theirs a letter for me with the NEBOSH logo on the front....
At first I told her I didn't want to know until I got home, because all that hard work I put into the 2 week crash course, I wanted to open it myself. But the suspense got to much for me so I told her to open it....sooooo either this was going to the longest offshore trip I have ever done, or it'll be the best trip since sliced bread....very thin line..
Well, low and behold she read out my results one by one..
NGC1 - 49% = PASS
NGC2 - 52% = PASS
NGC3 - 65% = PASS
PHEW!!!....talk about scrapping it
But WHOO HOOOOO !!!! I couldn't believe it, I honestly thought I mucked up my NGC 2, but it worked out that it was better than my NGC1.
So im well chuffed...as they say...a pass, is a pass, is a pass, is a pass
The only problem about being told this information offshore was that I couldn't have a drink to celebrate with my friends and family
But im due home this Tuesday..so I cant wait to have that first drink as a qualified NEBOSHER
I'd just like to thank everyone on this forum, as I have consistently visited the forum for 6 months getting any hints and tips for my General Cert...so thanks for all your help....
I will no doubt be popping back in here for some pre exam advice on Management Paper so any good tips please keep me abreast if you have the time.

Its been a year since I found this site and decided to go down the mainstream H&S route guns bazing .
With the help of a few wise posters on here, I have progressed soundly during the year, plenty of tips and advice have come my way.
Taking this NEBOSH Gen. was certainly the turning point for me, opened so many doors.
That said it is only the begining of a long journey,and with the help of this site will be successful and rewarding.

I have got alot of help and support from this site, and my brother who did the same last year and has now gone on to work in the Middle East as a SHE Manager.. This site has kept the subject alive as Ive done my course. So many thanks for all the help and advice... Shame you cant take laptops to the NEBOSH exam!!!!!!
You go for it Lizzie, and you have found the best site ever for helping you through any H&S course you decide to do.
The people on here are fantastic and it gives me great confidence each time I visit, so I see exactly where you are coming from.
It is easy for everyone to see the negative aspects of H&S but in time when your work starts showing that people are safer then they won't be quite so tough on you.
Know who is on your side and work with them, then life becomes much less of an uphill struggle.
Gen Cert help will be widely available on this site, don't by shy to post!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I also when feeling a bit low check on this site for pure plain help and support!

I know I've not posted much here, i've mainly been going through the old threads for any answers i've been after.... so a massive big thanks to you all, because without this site i wouldn't have:
*decided to go for nebosh gen cert (early next year if santa helps me out)
*found out about part funding for the cert
*got free downloads, links to other sites etc (helped solve a few "discussions" at work
*and mainly, for giving me the inspiration to keep on going when everyone hates my ******* guts!!!!! 
massive big pats on the back all round, i really am overwhelmed at what a great site this is

I have now passed my last asignment unit C & got 74 % so I am now the proud owner of a NEBOSH Diploma its been a tough 18 months but thankyou to everyone on this site who gave me moral suport at the start of this epic juorney , and give me hope that one day I will get my life back but there feels a hole now that needs filling dare I say MSC !!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks to all on here for the materials, support and convincing me to actually go in to the exam and special thanks to Otto for his 'everything you need to know to pass the AI management paper'.
I have to say that this site and the contributors really made it easier for me to understand certain parts of the course, there is such a diverse collection of minds on this site that learning became fun & the depth of interest from my part became almost obssesive - great fun & again thanks to all the contributors!

The best peice of advice i can give you is this board and the people that use it. I pop in and out everyday and am always seeing new information, and sometimes a different view on things. Ask as many questions as you want and the fantastic users will always respond.
The people on here will help you through, remember all you can do is your best.
I have just started my Nebosh Cert to I have done 3 days it is mind blowing but things do become clearer slowly.
This is a fantastic place for information and there are a lot of very experienced people here all willing to help you in any way they can.
I stumbled onto your brilliant site over the weekend, while lining myself up with some revision resources ahead of starting my NEBOSH Cert on Thursday.
hopefully will lead to a career in H+S, I'm really glad that I found this '' Brilliant Site'' it has already been a great asset in my learning already

I have found the practical the most difficult of the NEBOSH Gen Cert to revise for and it is the part that the least amount of time is spent on in the classroom. The advice and guidance provided by this site (and the support) is extremely good and I would like to thank all of the people who have contributed.
I would like to thanks all of you on the forum and the contributors to the site in general for all the help and support you gave me which resulted in two units passed.
Over the past 4 months I've been working as a "Temp" for these people.
Yesterday they offered me a job as a Quality and Health & Safety Technician- Hurrah!
Part of the reason for this offer is my approach to H&S matters.
In additon to my IOSH training and first-hand experience this is based on advice I receive from people on this site - which is invaluable.

Ya hoo!!! I have passed, I got my results this morning and boy am I glad, only 3 points off a credit as well.
I would just like to say a big thank to this site especially as some of the hints that the members have posted on here no doubt helped me a lot, especially coldips examination tips.
In all honestly I thought that I had failed paper 2 because some of the questions were really hard and I struggled. but again acording to HSFB tips they said complete all the questions to the best of your ability and thats what I did so thanks.

Took the nebosh last week. I have to say very early in my studies i was very fortunate to find this website and introduced the rest of my studying colleagues to it. Without a doubt it has proved absolutely invaluable. The course was to say the least mystifying. The obvious was seen as not important and the important was not seen as the obvious, if you know what i mean !!! My god i am even typing in Nebosh speak, need a beer. I feel like Agent Jenkins off the EMA adds on tele - Abort, Abort, medic, man down.
Anyhow, my many thanks to the individuals, who are too numerous to mention for there unstinting support and to the website for its fabulous downloads.
Just hope now fingers crossed i get the nod.

I've been lurking on this website/forum since early Feb. I needed an answer for a mock test and came across the website by chance trying to find an answer to a tutorial question via google.
I spent the night before the mock exam studying the A1 management paper via a wireless internet connection on my psp rather than leafing through the NEBOSH book or course material.
A big thank to everyone for all their helpful advice and tips.

Sorry to be a nuisance but I was well ahead of myself. My results sheet came through with an R45 for Unit B Assignment, but on further reading the re-submission mark may come up to 14 days after exam results.
This morning I have just received my re-submission and got the prescribed 50%, so I have now completed Unit B in its entirety.
So to complete the Dip I now have to write 2 assignments Unit A & C.

Many thanks for that, i visit the site several times each day (and evening) and always find the info across the board fantastic. One of my first jobs was to make a new H&S policy for the group and even did some work on it boxing day (the bug gets you). The site has been and will continue to invaluable to my job. I know if i have a problem the place to get an answer is HERE... The site makes my job a lot easier and cuts out the waffle.
To the site... i have been visiting the site for a few months now and find both the information and warmth of the people first class.
I find this site a useful reference book. The information on here is awesome. The speed at which you can find information is second to none.
This website is absolutely superb. The amount of knowledge in ALL areas from every day problems to the ridiculous is astonishing.

Somewhat surprisingly this morning's paper ( the Management one ) went really well ... not blowing my own trumpet but I'd be surprised if I didn't pass that .... thanks down to a lot of the revision stuff I found on here and some other aids that were sent direct. Being new to the forum and looking at all the different methods for learning, I have taken all you good peoples advice and started doing past papers, it is now all falling into place and this is the best form of learning retention that I have found.

It is truly nice to visit a forum where people are willing ask questions and grateful for the help they receive.

Thumbs up from me too, made my Christmas very special as i will be able to spend it with my other half rather than be at work humping barrels for 12 hours a day (including afternoons Xmas and new years eve) I cant say how much my life has changed thanks to this site. I know i took the exams but the advice given was amazing and the guys who mentored me by phone are stars!

I’ve recently completed the IOSH Managing Safely course but want to progress to do the NEBOSH general. I’m going to book a place for the course starting in January and this site will be a great help to me.

This site is the most friendly/helpful and concise I have found on the w.w.w. and clearly assists people with all levels of ability
I am delighted to say i passed my Nebosh Construction Certificate! The reason i've come on here is not to brag but thank all of you who gave me advice (under a different user name which i have now forgotten!) about the practical exam, whilst also thanks to those who put revision info on the website. I downloaded and used just about all the revision aids available and they were all a great help. It is important to note that i am useless at exams and although i did go to WS Training centre once a week in ipswich for 12 weeks, i still felt i was struggling to take so much in. I persevered and really sarted pushing hard on the revision side of things in the month running up to the exam and somehow i passed and with Credit as well.
Please please please if you know of anyone who struggles with exams then tell them this storey. I'm still in shock that i've passed but it is proof that revision does work, even if you dont feal your taking it in. Thanks again, this will definitly be a website i recommend to people and its helped change my life!
Passed the CERT in June after many hours browsing this excellent site (highly recommended by course tutor). Revision pages are invaluable to anybody taking this course.
Thanks to you all and I hope I can be as helpful to new members as the site has been to me.
I probably wouldn't have done half as well if it weren't for this site, I wouldn't know my PIGSRISE or my TILE or half the other stuff that is skimmed over in the lessons. Thanks to all of you.

Hello everyone. Ive just registered but this site helped me get a distinction in the NEBOSH cert back at christmas time so thanks everybody.
What a cracking site, just started my NEBOSH cert, I can see I will be a regular pain in the butt with all my questions!!!.
Well the day finally came, 20+ years since doing exams i sat the nebosh gen cert exams at my training centre on 24th March, both papers.
Firstly i would like to say a massive massive thanks to everyone on this forum who prepared revision aids and posted replies in various related threads, you all deserve a medal.

I've waited since the 19th December to write this post on the forum.
Good news, the letter arrived this morning with the result I wanted, I've passed.
The advice from the people here on the forum about practicing past papers was very good advice.
I thought it was my birthday when I looked at the questions. I had seen nearly all of them, with a slight variation on some.
It was said, here on the forum by many that "it would all fall in to place" and it did.
To all just starting the Nebosh certificate, If I can do it anyone can.
As long as you put the work in.

It is without doubt the I owe my pass to the discovery of this site. Having only discovered it towards the end of my course it was an invaluable 'panic revision aid', and continues to be a valuable source of information. For this I will be eternally thankfull.
Now that I do have the pass I feel more at one with this fantastic community.

Just got my results this morning & I got a Credit
I got the performance indicators of 1-1-4 which I was really chuffed about.
I knew I didn't do as well as I hoped on the practical but I never dreamed I'd do so well on the written tests (though I thought I did reasonably well on them).
I think that using the revision aids from this site (especially the sample papers) and using Pnemonics (see my post on Pnemonics thread) to remember various stuff really paid off.
Thanks to everyone who helped create the revision aids on this site - I owe you all a pint

After much tearing out of hair, worry, fretting etc. I ended up doing okay.
In fact I did better than okay.
The results came in last week and I got a Distinction.
The performance indicators for A1, A2 & B were 2,2,2.
Many, many thanks to all on this site for your help. It is most appreciated.
The info and advice were invaluable.
Of the eleven people on the course, 2 got Distinctions, 4 got Credits, 3 Passed & 2 were referred.
Once again, thankyou and I hope you all have a Merry Xmas and please keep up the good work for 2006.
Welcome to the site. you have joined the best. I took my exam in June after a day release course. i can honestly say that plenty of studying is the key and the need to understand the question and the way that NEBOSH require it answered.
Do not be shy ask any question you like other than for money and at least one of the great people on this site will answer it for you. do not forget to check out the other parts of the site revision downloads etc.
Good Luck with the course
I was/am new to H&S also. Was 'advised' to take up the role of H&S rep by work and started the NEBOSH cert course, took exams last week.
I had no interest in the subject before hand, prefering to bury my head in the sand (as most do). However, after taking the course I am now very much into H&S (anorak).
I found this site half way through the course and can honestly say that with out it I would've suffered big time in the exams. My big mistake was not finding/making the time to study. It's not difficult if you do the reading. It also helped that I had a good lecturer.
I am now waiting to get my results at the end of Feb. But feel quietly confident.
Hi, Everyone new to the site. Found it when looking to see if there is any support out there for anyone doing general certificate. Day 2 tomorrow, GULP! Not done anything like this before looking for a change in career. Everyone else on the course been sent from work and already have something to do with H&S so feel abit out of depth at moment. Looks like this is the site to keep visiting, so till next time, possibly tomorrow, cheers.
I would just like to thank all who have offered me help and handouts during my study this last year. The quality of information is spot on keep up the good work.The site is excellent.
I sat the exam Friday 9 th DEC 2005 .....after doing it via distance learning .
I think I have done enough to pass just hope they can read the last few pages.
Good luck to all doing exams on Friday and practical this week.
I have my practical tomorrow morning and oh it doesn't feel like its my strongest area on the course.
I'm at the point now where I just want it all to be over and the countdown is on.

I am also a Union Safety Rep, for about 6 years now, and find that the help and info found here can be invaluable.
Well people all i can say is keep up the good work and advice that people give to one another. I have just became a safety rep not that long ago and trying to get things done some times i want to bang my head against a wall. 
But with the help and advice i have had of a lot of people on here i have got things done in my place of work.
So thanks again for all the advice

Hi all
in march this year i did the nebosh exam, failed paper 2, 
sat the paper again in september this year. got my results this morning PASS .
It IS ALL THANX TO ALL YOU GUYS HERE, with out you i think i may have stuggled.
To those who have not got the results they wanted this time keep coming to the site ask your questions DON'T GIVE UP YOU WILL GET THERE IN THE END

Found the site very helpfull especially the practical revision aids, but the proof of the pudding will be when I get my results later this month.

I found this site through another discussion forum in IOSH. 'Made up' I did
as there are a lot of other students paticipating who seem to be on the same 'wavelength' as me. So far I've found the site really user friendly and have already recommended it to colleagues.

I joined the ite on the 27 aug 2005. But I have been visiting site since may. I had searched for anything that could help me with my nebosh course with out much luck.
and then I found it
I used google and put in healh and safety nebosh
and in that list was our site, H&S For beginners.
Its a really great site and has been a lot of help to me.
Wish I had found it sooner.

I have heard my course tutor also recommending the site to others
It was word of mouth by my Course Tutor at *******, I am doing my Nebosh General, so far I have I have found the site Excellent & very informative
A great site, friendly and knowledgable members, and a great resource for anyone studying a H&S course.
i used google and i look at other H& S sites and this is by far the best. i am due to start my nebosh in october and can see this is a valuable site to belong to.
I had to resit my A1 paper last December , I found the best policy was to read through lots of old management papers as this helped me a lot.Also the revision section on this site was very helpfull.I passed my resit and I am sure you will do the same, good luck.

im the nervous guy that sends msgs about the results..well today i woke up and found many letters on my mailbox..on e of them....was the NEBOSH exam results! WITH BIG CAPITALS IT SAYS PASS!! i was very paranoid andi was saying to myself..."this cant be" but it is!!and has the marking rank at the next page!well yes yes yes yes!i got it and now im thinking to move further!!I have the environmental management MSC wth waste management and im thinking to go to the diploma of safety management!as you can imagine i am quite ambitious ater the results
Also, i have to thank all the creators of this site, the moderators, the users and the guests that visit the site and say their views about problems possible solutions and hints. Thank you all people and hope that you are doing well to whatever you do in life in general!
I just want to pass on my greatful thanks to all on the site managed a 5-1-6 PASS still don't believe it! Only found out today due to holidays, now to find a job and put it to use!!

I also got my NEBOSH result yesterday, I got a (pause for a few seconds)
Distinction 1.1.1, dunno if was a typo by NEBOSH but I will accept it anyway!! and I am well pleased. 
Must admit doubt if I would have got anywhere near that if I had not found this site, special thanks to those who sent me past papers and to those who took the time and effort to post the revision notes and downloads, all very useful study aids.
Good to see that somebody has posted a practical exam report and observation sheet (well done Coldrop) as this was one area that was lacking in information for the NEBOSH course.

It has been very useful to be for preparation for undertaking my studies and its nice to know I'm not alone and there is so much shared information on this site.

Took the Certificate exams on Friday. I feel quietly confident, hope it is justified. Just wanted to say a big thank you to all of you. I used the site constantly during the course and for homework. It often provided a clearer insight than lecturer's note. Many thanks. Will let you know how I get on, in the meantime a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
