A seminar by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) will be held at the Marriott Forest of Arden Hotel, Warwickshire, on 8 November 2004, which will inform businesses of the benefits of full investigations of any accidents or incidents occurring in the workplace.

5 October 2004 - New Area on HSE Website for Business Benefits of Health and Safety

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) have a new web site area within their website aimed at highlighting the benefits to businesses of Health and Safety in the workplace.

The new pages explain that effective management of health and safety has a positive effect on the unacceptable amount of suffering, due to accidents and ill health, within the workplace.

New page added to the site telling a little about HSfB and what we do:  About Us

The site has been upgraded due to high demands on the site.  September saw 7022.89MB downloaded from the site and 8,036 visits.  Thank you!

The forums also saw the 100th registered  member joining our community.

The latest report on Signals Passed at Danger (SPAD) has been published by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) for August 2004, of which there has now been a total of 60 SPADs published.

30 September 2004 - New HSE Research Report: RR271 Recruiting Safe Employees for Safety-Critical Roles

A research project was undertaken by psychologists from the Occupational Psychology Centre (OPC) on behalf of Her Majesty's Railway Inspectorate (HMRI).

The purpose of this innovative research project was to pilot a selection process for safety-critical employees within the rail industry in the UK.
