24 September 2004 - New HSE Research Report - RR263 Integrated Gateways

A new research report prepared by Glasgow's Caledonian University for the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) - RR263 Integrated Gateways: Planning out Health and Safety Risk, is an investigation into the integration of health and safety planning within construction project management.

Due to the belief that the implementation of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 1994 (CDM Regulations) CIS41, lead to a bureaucracy adding little value to the management of construction projects, the research team have developed an integrated Gateway model for construction projects, which incorporates the management of heath and safety risk.

Extensive consultations, by the research team, within the industry, several group meetings and numerous interviews with experienced practitioners was the provisory for the Gateway model.
