19 October 2004 - WWT Roadshow Now Reaches London

The 6 week Working Well Together (WWT) roadshow, which has been on the road throughout the UK providing help and advice for employers and employees within the construction industry for a healthier safer working performance, has arrived in London.

The London week dates and venues are as follows:

  • BBC Broadcasting House 18/10/04 Westminster
  • Bromley Civic Centre 19/10/04 Bromley
  • Channel Tunnel Link 20/10/04 Camden
  • UCL College 21/10/04 Westminster
  • Wembley 22/10/04 Brent

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE), trade unions, and the construction industry all support the WWT campaign, which is part of the European Week for Safety and Health at work.

Head of HSE's Construction Division, Mr. Kevin Myers commented:

"Last year, 14 construction workers were killed in the London region alone and hundreds more were injured and suffered ill health. The WWT roadshow is working with employers and employees to reduce the number of worker injuries by delivering vital information and advice to workers on site.
At sites where health and safety is proactively managed and both sub-contractors and employees are informed and involved, a safer, healthier and more productive environment is created."
