RR264 - Safety and performance enhancement in drilling operations by human factors intervention (SPEDOHFI)

A new research report Prepared by Quest Evaluations & Databases Ltd for the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has been published.   It is concerned with the relatively new concept of human factors where the HSE has defined it as:

“Human factors refer to environmental, organisational and job factors, and human and individual characteristics which influence behaviour in a way which can affect health and safety”.

The aim of dealing with and understanding human factors is to be able to adapt technology and the environment to the capacities and limitations of humans.

This new research report is aimed at the drilling environment and sought to us a systematic process of Human Factors tools to classify basic causes of human error and poor safety climate.
