Cambridge
Navigation

As part of their ongoing campaign, Health and Safety Executive
(HSE) Inspectors and Environmental Health (Safety) Officers (EHO's) from
Cambridge City Council will visit Cambridge business premises commencing on
Monday 14 March 2005. The Inspectors will provide advice and
guidance to employers, in order that they can address problem health and safety
management and control areas within their workplace.
Visits will take place at construction sites, industrial and
commercial premises. Manufacturing, workplace transport and working
at height will be focused upon by inspectors, ensuring control provisions are
being correctly applied in occupational asthma, manual handling risks, slips and
trips areas.
Cambridge City Council's Food and Occupational Safety Manager
commented on the initiative:
"My team and I look forward to working in partnership with
the HSE during this initiative and in the future, working together for the
benefit of those living and working in the Cambridgeshire area.
"Inspectors will give advice and guidance during these visits
and offer employers an opportunity to address any areas that need attention.
They will also take enforcement action to achieve the necessary improvements
where people are not managing risks effectively."
