11 March 2005 - IOSH Article on Possible Work Experience Programme

Navigation

The Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) have kindly provided an article for Health and Safety for Beginners' (HSfBs') "your article" page, entitled "The first rung of the ladder".

The article explains the possibility of IOSH setting up a work experience health and safety programme for newly qualified health and safety professionals.

IOSH intend to set up a pilot scheme, whereby employers would be asked to make provision for work experience, by offering placements to graduates or students.

We at HSfB endorse this idea.   We are well aware of the problems graduates have in entering the health and safety field and urge employers to contact IOSH in making their venture a success.
