26 March 2004 - The HSE's Corporate Health and Safety Plan 2004–2005

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has published its Corporate Health and Safety Plan 2004–2005, which brings to the fore its own health and safety issues for its employees from a corporate perspective.

The HSE's priorities are:

  • Musculoskeletal disorders, display screen equipment and back injuries

  • To reduce the number of accidents in relation to slips, trips and falls

  • Management of stress in order to reduce sickness absence in the HSE due to work-related stress

  • To monitor performance of all contractors, ensuring that they deliver services to equivalent standards of health and safety and that management is in place to rectify shortfalls

  • To promote management awareness of HSE’s policy on drugs and alcohol
