An HSE inspector commented:
"The main aim of the event will be to provide a coherent
approach to the regulatory environment in which care homes operate, and will
focus on issues affecting both employees and residents.
"One particular area being covered is that of back injuries
caused, or made worse, by work, and the event forms part of a national 'Backs!
2005' campaign, an initiative aiming to reduce instances of back injury at work.
"The HSE campaign will help encourage innovative solutions to
this problem, which causes pain and suffering to a large number of people at
work and results in substantial costs to businesses from people taking time off
for back injuries."
Two sessions will be held: 9:00am and 1.00pm
