Due to
investigative work into the provision of Occupational Health Advisory
Services within general practice, a report has now been published.
The report - Evaluation of Occupational Health Advice in Primary Health
Care, was funded by the HSE and set out to improve workers' well-being
and workplace standards.
Craig Jackson, of the School of Health and Policy Studies at the University
of Central England, submitted the report and found that although
improvements within the primary health care sector could be beneficial to
the health and working environments, the lack of awareness of these health
and safety problems, by participants, would perhaps limit the advice given.
If the awareness of the participants' own health and safety problems were
not recognised correctly, then this would lead to the accessing of incorrect
advice and support for their needs.
