6 July 2004 - Updated Guidance on the Transport of Dangerous Goods

The Department for Transport (DfT) has recently published updated guidance on the transport of dangerous goods - Working with ADR: An Introduction to the Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road.

The guidance does not cover the transport of radioactive materials or transportable pressure equipment in detail, it only deals with the carriage of goods by road.   The guidance should be accompanied by the European Agreement Concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR) and the Carriage of Dangerous Goods and Use of Transportable Pressure Equipment Regulations 2004.

The European Agreement Concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR) can be accessed from the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) web site here.

The Carriage of Dangerous Goods and Use of Transportable Pressure Equipment Regulations 2004 can be accessed from the HMSO web site here.

Working with ADR: An Introduction to the Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road can be found here.
