27 July 2004 - New Appointed Deputy Director General of the Health and Safety Executive (HSE)
Jonathan Rees has been appointed as Deputy Director General of the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). Mr Rees will take over from Kate Timms who retires in September 2004. Mr Rees is appointed to oversee the Policy Group with another Deputy Deputy General being responsible for operations.
Mr Rees' present position is Director, Consumer and Competition Policy, in the Department of Trade and Industry. Previous to this post, he was Director, Modernising Public Services Group in the Cabinet Office and from 1994-7 was a member of the Prime Minister’s Policy Unit.
