12 January 2005 - Health and Safety Awareness Day Forthcoming in London

Navigation

A Health and Safety Awareness Day is being planned to take place on Tuesday 18 January 2005, at Glaxo Smithkline House, 980 Great Western Road, Brentford.

The event will provide an opportunity for small businesses of less than 50 people, who may not be able to afford the expense of employing their own Health and Safety Officer, relevant information to their own business presented very informally by Health and Safety professionals, local authorities, HSE/London Boroughs of Ealing, Hillingdon and Hounslow.

Some of the subjects covered by the event will be:

  • Risk Assessments

  • Working at height

  • Manual handling

  • Workplace transport

  • Slips, trips and falls

  • Work related stress.

Health and Safety Executive Head of Operations in London commented:

"For smaller firms, employing a Health and Safety specialist of their own can be expensive, so visitors to the event will have the opportunity to get the information that's directly relevant to them, presented in a very informal way."

Hillingdon Chamber of Commerce said of the event:

"We welcome this training as an opportunity for small businesses to get up to date information on health and safety law.

"It will be of great benefit to smaller firms who may not be able to afford their own health and safety professionals, as well as offering practical solutions for problems such as staff absence through ill-health and accidents."

Reservations to attend the event can be made, either for morning or afternoon sessions, by telephoning:  020 7556 2115.
