1 February 2005 - New HSE Web Page for Construction Division's Programme of Work

Navigation

A new web page within the Health and Safety Executive's (HSE's) website has been created for the Construction Division's Programme of Work 2004/05, part of the Revitalising Health and Safety (RHS) strategy and is made up of the following 4 main portfolios:

  • Safety

  • Health

  • CDM Dutyholders

  • Strategic Stakeholders.

The RHS was implemented due to concerns that no improvements had been seen to be made in the numbers of injuries occurring within workplaces since the early 1990's.   The Health and Safety at Work Act (1994) was the most recent law for health and safety at work, therefore the Government and the Health and Safety Commission (HSC) deemed it necessary to act, by putting more effort into the management of health and safety with the aim of reducing these figures.

Details and links to Construction priority cards can be accessed by clicking the following:  Construction programme of work 2004 -2005
