Storing and Handling Ammonium Nitrate

The Health and
Safety Executive (HSE) website contains a new leaflet on the Storing and
Handling of Ammonium Nitrate.
Although the
leaflet does not apply to transport Class 1 of the UN classification system,
storage of ammonium nitrate fertilizers (less than quantities of 1 tonne)
and fertilizers containing 28% or less nitrogen with the limit being 50
tonnes, many of the general principles may also still be relevant in order
to comply with the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974.
