5 April 2005 - New Report on HSE Website
for Corporate Plan 2005 - 2006
Navigation

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) Board and Corporate Health
and Safety Committee (CHSC) have set out a plan for 2005-2006 to provide
employees with "good and safe conditions of work", by recognising proposals put
to the Board in Board Paper HSE/04/026, which outlined improvements in HSE's
health and safety.
The plan identifies 4 priority areas as follows:
-
Improving health and safety management in HSE, by developing
"fit for purpose" systems and strong compliance culture.
-
Targeting the main causes of harm in HSE, by improving HSE's
performance regarding DSE related problems, manual handling related injuries,
slip and trip accidents and work-related stress.
-
Targeting high consequence risks, by ensuring work-related road
risks and lone working risks are managed correctly.
-
Improving ability to monitor health and safety performance, by
identifying leading indicators to complement existing Board targets and ensuring
targets are met.
These priorities will be discussed, approved and monitored at
the Boards' monthly meetings by the following attendees:
-
Board Directors.
-
Corporate Health and Safety Committee.
-
Operational Health and Safety Committee.
-
Operational Services Unit.
-
Trade Union Safety Reps.
