The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) have issued a statement on the Barrow
Legionella prosecution. We have highlighted the statement and
provided a link to the HSE's website where you can read the full statement.
"HSE would like to express sympathy to people of Barrow, in particular the
families of the seven residents who died following the outbreak in the summer of
2002 and the 180 people who suffered from Legionnaires’ disease. Our thoughts
are with all those who are still trying to deal with the consequences of this
tragic event."
