8 September 2005 - HSE's Watch Your Step
Campaign
Navigation

The Health and Safety Executive's (HSE's) "Watch Your Step"
campaign gets underway from 3 October to 28 October 2005, raising awareness of
the causes of slip and trip accidents within workplaces.
Figures of slip and trip accidents within the workplace show a
massive 11,000 plus major injuries occurring, which could be lessened if a more
serious approach were taken within this area of health and safety risks.
The campaign will highlight the costs of slip and trip accidents
to the UK economy, in a bid to convince businesses it is in their interest also
to reduce the estimated £800million costs incurred through loss of productivity
and absenteeism.
An HSE Webpage has been created for the campaign and provides
lots of help, advice and information on slips and trips such as the following:
-
Resources available which can be used in training sessions.
-
Information about reasonably practicable control measures.
-
Real Case Studies.
-
Video clips of real life consequences of slips and trips in
workplaces.
-
Leaflets on the campaign.
-
Posters.
Let's put our best foot forward and step into the October
campaign sure footed to help reduce the slip and trip accidents in our
workplaces.
