10 November 2005 - HSE Call for SME's Help
in Pilot OHMM
Navigation

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) is calling upon small and
medium sized enterprises (SME's) in the construction industry to assist in their
recently piloted Occupational Health Management Model (OHMM).
The model has been developed by the HSE, in a bid to reduce
ill-health within the construction industry, where it is estimated that 96,000
of the 2 million people working in the industry suffered ill-health caused or
made worse by their work.
The model is in the form of a flow-chart and is being piloted
with some companies at the moment. However, the HSE require more
SME's to sign up, in order to effectively evaluate the model's content and
structure and to provide them with feedback.
Joining the pilot scheme will also provide SME's with the
opportunity to look at their own safety management systems and if necessary
implement changes.
Further information on the OHMM pilot scheme and how to join can
be accessed by clicking the following:
OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH MANAGEMENT MODEL
However, if any SME wishes more information before signing up,
they can contact Sue Parkyn or Kate Goodwin-Foster on 01582 444200.
