28 July 2005 - Latest Statistics Available Within HSE Webpage

Navigation

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) have made available the latest statistics within their web-pages, in pdf format, as follows:

The Statistics of Fatal Injuries for 2004/05 shows the fatalities to workers in all industries throughout the UK and in European Union Member States.
In general, the report highlights the decrease of fatalities in the workplace and is well worth taking a moment to view.

Mr. Bill Callaghan, Chair of the Health and Safety Commission (HSC) commenting on the statistics called for a continuation for improvement in the control of risks within workplaces and said:

"Although we are making progress, I remain concerned that so many people continue to lose their lives at work. Behind these figures are enormous personal tragedies involving the unexpected loss of family and friends.

"The Health and Safety Commission and the Executive remain committed to being a good partner - working with others to improve health and safety risk management. We need the support of all our stakeholders to realise our vision of health and safety as a cornerstone of a civilised society. "

The Health and Safety Activity Bulletin 2005 lists such things as the number of visits Local Authorities have made, Enforcement Notices issued, prosecutions and convictions within England, Wales and Scotland and is laid out in a very instant easy to read format.

Each of the above reports can be accessed by clicking the relevant link.
