28 July 2005 - CCA Conference on Corporate
Homicide Reform in Scotland
Navigation

The Centre for Corporate Accountability (CCA) are holding a
conference on 6 October 2005, at Partick Burgh Hall in Glasgow, to consider if
there is a Scottish alternative to the Westminster reform and what the
alternative might be.
The conference will be attended by The Scottish Executive,
employers, trade unions, NHS and local Government employers as well as lawyers
and members of the Executive Panel.
Some of the considerations which will be addressed at the
conference are as follows:
-
What should be the nature of any Scottish offence.
-
How it should apply to crown and public bodies.
-
Whether it should deal with the accountability of individual
directors.
-
What sentences should be available to the courts.
-
Whether any reforms should also deal with offences involving
serious injury.
