Proposed amendment of sections 93 and 94 of the Environmental Protection
Act 1990 and the Street Litter Control Notices Order 1991
- This consultation paper sets out proposals to extend existing regulatory
controls available to local authorities for dealing with street litter. It is
particularly aimed at addressing the problem of smoking-related litter dropped
outside premises. It is part of a wider package of voluntary and legislative
measures that Government has been pursuing to help achieve cleaner, safer and
greener public places.
